Angel is a small terrier mix with big fear issues. She has been abused in the past, is reactive to movement and sound, and recently bit someone. First order of business was a management plan to help reduce her anxiety when strangers come to visit. We set up a crate and worked on desensitizing her to it. She was mostly quiet in it and would only bark from time to time, but would calm down when told to. At one point she was quiet for 15 minutes (quite an accomplishment for her) while we carried on a conversation. With consistent use I believe this will be a great tool to help control her anxiety issues, and keep her and visitors safe.
