![]() I don't often have the opportunity to teach a dog to Sit, but we did just that today with Diego. We also taught him to Down and he now does them both very well. Such a smart boy! ![]() Oakley continues to do very well with his basic manners training. Today he learned how to Drop It and Leave It, skills that are especially important for a puppy to learn because of all the things they put in their mouths! ![]() Because of the rain we had to do our Come When Called training inside, but Anubi did great. She loved the recall games, especially Puppy Ping Pong. ![]() Otis is a very friendly 6-month old puppy. But at 110 pounds (already!), that friendliness can sometimes be a problem without impulse control. Today we taught Otis how to Stay. He did very well, and was able to stay with duration, distance, and distractions. ![]() Gus did really well learning how to Come When Called. He loved all the recall games we played, especially when peanut butter was involved! ![]() When I met Finn for our consultation he spent the majority of the time avoiding me, as he was extremely shy. So I was very pleased today when he happily greeted me when I came in. Positive reinforcement works so well. We then taught Finn how to Down on cue. He did great, until the little guy tuckered out from all those "puppy push-ups"! ![]() Prior to tonight Anubi did not know how to Down on cue. She learned it very quickly and within 30 minutes she was lying down like a champ! We then worked on improving her Stay by adding distractions. She was able to stay while we threw toys on the ground, except for her kryptonite - a tennis ball! If we can get her to stay when we throw a tennis ball she can stay for anything! |
