The Trainers
In 2013 Jeff Dentler graduated from Kutztown University’s Canine Training & Management program, where he learned his science-backed, force-free, positive reinforcement-based training techniques. The program, an intense 17 module, 120 hour curriculum instructed by world-renowned canine and feline ethologist, author, and trainer Susan Bulanda, prepared Jeff to embark on his professional dog training career.
In 2015 Jeff took his Certified Professional Dog Trainer exam and passed with a 91% efficiency rating.
In 2021 Jeff took his International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants Accredited Dog Trainer exam and passed with a score of 94%.
Jeff's focus is on dogs that struggle with fear, anxiety, and reactivity.

“Jeff is personable and knowledgeable in his trade. His attention to individual details has been beneficial, in that he does not train in a “one size fits all” mentality. Our girl (dog) is as individual as a person as far as experiences that have shaped her behavior, and Jeff took time to understand that before implementing exercises. Fun to watch the instant change once concepts are applied!”
Kim Dentler is the Puppy Specialist at Dentler’s Dog Training, guiding families through the early stages of puppyhood and teaching basic manners to dogs of all ages. She joined the team in 2022 and brings extensive hands-on experience to her role. Kim uses a patient, positive, and playful approach to help dogs and their people feel confident and connected. She is a member of the Association for Professional Dog Training International.
“Kim’s visits were incredibly helpful after we brought a second dog into the family. The training approach is logical and easy to follow through with, and the included handouts were helpful references between visits. As a result of the training, we feel very confident in scaffolding activities to make sure our dog is well adjusted! I highly recommend consulting Kim any time a new dog joins the family to assist with a smooth transition.”
Other members of our team: Chase, who has earned his Champion Trick Dog title, and Ash, who was a CCC certified therapy dog (09/26/08- 06/24/22).
“Working with the Dentlers was a wonderful experience and we’d highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for support. Kim was always prompt, responsive, knowledgeable and masterful with our puppy. Training a 100 pound, 7 month old Mastiff isn’t easy, but Kim made it look that way! Highly recommend!”
“I highly recommend Dentler’s Dog Training. Their expertise with helping to train our puppy and us was very important. They were very caring and easy to work with and gave us many helpful suggestions! We know if we have any questions in the future, we can contact them and they’ll be there for us.”
