Although Susie knows Sit, today we worked on making it better as well as teaching her the hand signal. We also taught her Down. Both of these skills are the foundation for what we will be teaching her in the coming weeks.
Breah is an Italian Greyhound/Miniature Pinscher mix who needs some help with housebreaking, jumping, and basic manners. She is very eager to learn and picks things up very quickly. Today we worked on going to her crate as well as other things that will help with the housebreaking process.
More nose work with Keurig today. We used some worn clothing as a scent source and let him do his thing - and he found the 'missing' person! In fact, we did it twice and he was successful both times. He is doing great! Tucker earned his certificate of achievement for completing the basic obedience program by playing recall games so he could learn to Come When Called. We also worked on his reactivity to animals on TV and he was able to go 1 minute and 20 seconds without reacting. Doesn't sound like much? It's about 1 minute and 19 seconds longer than he used to be able to do!
Sammy is very scared of items such as staplers and food choppers, running upstairs to hide when he hears them, so tonight we worked on desensitizing him to these every day sounds just so he can live a normal life.
Jetty's manners are very inconsistent, so last week we had the owners work on teaching her focus and attention. Tonight we went back to basics and worked on Sit and Down, with the goal being Sit turns into her default behavior to stop her from jumping on guests.
